SPRING CONCERT
Our Spring Concert was held last night (17 May) and was a great success.
The Ladies' were in great voice and delivered a well balanced and interesting musical programme.
Our guests (Ember) were also very well received by the audience and entertained us all with a mixture of folk songs, spirituals and some of their own compositions. They accompanied themselves with a mixture of guitar, clarinet and fiddle.
Bangor International Choral Festival - 19 April 2008
Chester Ladies' have just returned from the festival in Northern Ireland and have had really good critiques from their performances in the competitions they entered.
Finishing third, we were just 'pipped' for second place in the Ladies' Choir competition against some fantastic (if youthful) opposition.
In the Entertainment section we were highly commended for our performances of our selected pieces and finished 'mid-field' in a truly fantastic international field.
It was the same story in the Rose Bowl competition - with even stiffer competition.
Our MD (Rodney) was highly delighted with all the performances and he said; "the adjudicators were 'spot-on' with some very flattering and constructive comments; we sang to our potential and can rightly hold our heads up high after competing with a truly inspirational international choral line up at this years festival".
